 Connections 4 Her
Bold Goal: Connecting Women to Each Other
and Resources
Connections can make the difference between a woman's failure or her success. Women 4 Women wants to develop a program that by 2010 connects 5,000 women and girls to each other to share knowledge, resources and support. The program will also organize and promote existing resources in an easy and useful way.
Profile
Prodigal Ministries was formed to help women prisoners reintegrate into the community upon their release. A supporter of Prodigal Ministries made it known to Women 4 Women that the organization needed help securing medical care for the former inmates. With a couple of phone calls, Women 4 Women arranged meetings with Jewish Hospital & St. Mary's HealthCare and went a step further and arranged a meeting with top state justice officials, which resulted in major changes in the release program.
“Because of Women 4 Women, I now have a much bigger network of people I can call on,” said Suzanne Seabold, Prodigal Ministries executive director

The Problem
Women can't use resources they don’t know exist. Personal contacts and knowledge can help lift them out of a struggle and help them become more stable and productive members of the community.
The Solution
Women 4 Women began Connect Sessions and Women 4 Women Updates to connect women to each other and resources. We have taken the program to outside businesses and organizations as well, to help women make meaningful connections with other staff or club members.
More than 3,000 connections have been facilitated through our Connections 4 Her programs (woman to woman, woman to organization or organization to organization).
In addition, we have compiled a resource guide, available under the Resource Section of this Web site, to help women connect with local, state and national services in a searchable database on our website. This resource guide was made possible by a grant from the Gheens Foundation.
On June 21, 2008, Women 4 Women will launch the Champions 4 Her Walk, Run & Festival with nine community partners to increase awareness of the challenges women and girls face, and the solutions. The event will also raise funds for women and girls programming.
We will host the first community-wide Connect Session during our 2008 Champions 4 Her Festival. Please join us!
