Benchmark IIBenchmark II Released

Benchmark II: A Study of Louisville Women and Girls 2012 was released during a press conference on May 10 at 10:30 a.m., held in the Fifth Third Conference Room, Brown Theatre Lobby, 315 W. Broadway.

The report is a follow up to Benchmark I, released to the community in 2000. Both studies, while 12 years apart, give a look into the lives and economic situations of women, girls and families from a variety of perspectives. Benchmark II evaluates the research which spurred the creation of the Women 4 Women Economic Self-Sufficiency Model. The model focuses on four key areas: health and safety, education and leadership, jobs and earnings, and social change and the single-parent economy.

Women 4 Women will host two community forums on May 16 and 23 to discuss findings and begin the collaborative process of what we, as a community, can do to change these statistics. The public is invited to attend one or both of these forums; RSVP to danah@w4w.org.

May 16 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. - Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana, 2115 Lexington Road, Louisville, KY, 40206

May 23 2 to 4 p.m. - The Center for Women and Families, 927 S. 2nd Street, Louisville, KY, 40203
